TracMap, an Otago based company, provides a monitor that can address these problems. Already there are councils in New Zealand where these are compulsory if you use a travelling irrigator. How it Works
A GPS and sensors are mounted on the Travelling Irrigator, with wireless linkage back to a controller linked to the pump switch mechanism. Whenever the pump is turned on, it monitors the speed of the irrigator.
